disappearing glacier

It said most Swiss glaciers will disappear by 2080 if global warming continues at its current pace.
Can you spot me in the photo?

ahoy, zürisee

Ahoy Zürisee, here come Ella the Shark and Cap'n Manto

We are pirates! That we'll be!
We sail our ship upon the sea!
We stay up late - till half past three!
And that's a peg below the knee!
We like to fish, we like to fight
We like to stay up half the night

Prada shoes and Alpine roads don't mix?
no, it's super mom holding a lazy 2 yr old, running down the Alps trying to catch the last train.

Lower Engadin - Scoul and Guarda

This weekend we are at the spa village of Scoul and Guarda - the village of Schellenursli. Engadin is Romansch speaking part of Switzerland. Engain in Romansch is Engiadina which translate to "the garden of the Inn" - the river that originates near St. Moritz and flows to Austria and is the right tributary of the Danube. The Swiss National Park is also located here.

be green - every little bit counts

ok ok, I may not have been very green - all the diapers and wipes I used since birth, but I am really trying now. When at home, I can do it very well in my potty. Our sofa and beds are absolute peepee free!

Here's what I do to be
A environmentally responsible baby . . .

walk and take public transportation and ride a bike
help mommy recycle
turn off lights when not in the room
line dry my clothes
bring my own shopping bag
eat local and organic
support environmentally and socially responsible businesses
drink from the fountain
eat lots of croissants
(the last two - good intentions, questionable effects ! )

A Happy Father's Day at Zürisee

Posted by Picasa

We had a relaxing afternoon sailing in Zürisee. It's my first time on a sailboat, but since I am very much a daddy's girl, I totally enjoy every minute of it - especially dipping my feet in the cool lake water and controling the rudder

28th National Refugee Day
3500 people took part in a peaceful demonstration demanding "fundamental rights for all." Switzerland has a long humanitarian tradition based on its historic role as a country that welcomes asylum seekers, and on the Red Cross, which was founded in Geneva in 1863.
