Hello my name Anna Eleanor Roosevelt.  I was born on October 11,1884.  I grew up in a wealthy family in New York.  I attended Allenswood High School 3,000 miles away in England.  My headmistress was very important to me because she talked to me about current events and taught me about politics.  I married Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 17,1905.  In 1929 my husband became the 32nd president of the United States.  While I was the first lady, America went through the Great Depression and World War II.

Two of my many accomplishments include directing the Red Cross during World War II and making speeches about women’s rights. Did you know that I worked at the U.N. even after my husband’s death? I died on November 7,1962, of a complicated blood disease.  I was 78 years old.
